Sustainability & Impact

Comms & Community

Our ability to ‘grow’ within our rapidly changing world context – to thrive, to compete, to recruit, to retain, to not burn out – is dependent on our ability to build robust business strategies and working cultures fit for the future.

Our people need more and different things from us, how we connect and collaborate is constantly changing, we are increasingly accountable for our social and environmental impacts, we need to have and live our “values”, we have to pay attention to stakeholders, and we have to know how to talk to them all. There are a lot of variables for leaders to understand and manage.

Working Together

I bring energy, focus and frameworks oriented toward ways of working that serve who we are now and where we’re headed, addressing our most pressing challenges and capturing our most exciting opportunities.

Focused Foundation Sessions

  • What makes the best of us and what do we carry forward into the future?

    MY APPROACH

Review / understand the culture you’ve built, set by the founding team, lived across the team now and experienced by your partners, customers and others.

Bring the team together to consider all of the things that make us who we are as people and team, and how we deliver our work in a way that is uniquely “us”.

Translate our findings into a clear, concise expression of our culture that represents the fullness of our inputs, while being easy to remember and use.

Test together and commit to action, and highlighting where this work can be brought across the team now and in the future, such as:

    • Company tone of voice, internal and external communications, HR policies and procedure, recruitment, customer service standards and more.

    • B Corp reporting, Articles of Association documents and leadership transitions

    OUTPUT

Clear set of values (generally expressed as a set of 4) or working principles that absolutely feel like “us”, on our best day.  text goes here

  • How do we set a focus, direction and approach that delivers on our vision and goals: for our business, for our people and for the impact we want to make?

    MY APPROACH

Gather and review current strategic and operational documents.

Establish a clear base for the work we’ll do with the broader team, working with senior leadership team to define objectives and parameters for this work.

Bring the broader team together to consider the future we’re building together, our focus and approach as a team, and each of our roles in delivering.

Translate our findings into a clear, concise document. This work may include defining mission and purpose if this isn’t already clear or understood.

Review together and commit to action, identifying where this work can headline your operational and departmental strategies and plans.

    OUTPUT

Galvanising, concise and clear expression of strategic focus, aims, key milestones and priorities aligned to your vision for the future.

  • How can we do our best work together - now, this year, and into the future?

    MY APPROACH

Build a foundation for the session based on current cultural and strategic objectives and needs, established through team interviews and background documents.

Bring the broader team together to re-connect to each other and the broader company, aligning around individual and shared purpose, understanding and taking ownership of company strategy and objectives and leaving activated for the next Monday, the next quarter and beyond.

Translate our findings into a useful and actionable memento of the day.

Review together with a short brief at our next team meeting, and commit to keeping the momentum and energy from the day.

    OUTPUT

Motivating, connecting and collaborative Team Away Day with a clear and concise, actionable follow up document capturing key insights and outcomes to keep the momentum going.

Short, sharp and collaborative foundation sessions to focus, come together, and get clear on the path ahead, now and into the future.

She helped focus us on and articulate our shared values, then gently pivoted the whole organisation to live and breathe those values in every part of our collective being. She liberated us to be “business like” in our drive for social impact. She mentored new young recruits to shine and supported some of us old dogs to re-connect with our vision and focus on our strengths!
— Liz Zeidler, Founder and CEO, Centre for Thriving Places
Wren is brilliant. She is the most energetic, enthusiastic and encouraging facilitator I’ve ever worked with. You’re having so much fun in a meeting with Wren that you don’t realise how much you’re achieving. Her ability to distill a day’s worth of discussion and brainstorming into usable insights and conclusions is second to none. There is no way di:ga would be what it is or where it is without the help Wren has given us on our journey.
— Amy Barry, Founder and CEO, di:ga Strategy & Communications
Wren did a brilliant job ushering us through a pacey but thorough exercise to revisit our purpose, values and proposition. The output has been brilliant, and already had an impact on all sorts of areas of the business.

She is sharp but humble with it, facilitative yet happy to push, and she brings her own contribution to the exercise while making it very much ‘ours’. If you want some standard corporate guff about ‘customer excellence’, Wren’s not your person. If you want an exercise that is thoughtful, inclusive of the whole business, thorough and brings you to an articulation of YOUR business that is absolutely YOU, then Wren is your person.
— Toby Sawday, previously Managing Director, Sawday's
Wren has been particularly capable in bringing a market-based eye to a technology and environmental offering, bringing in new client connections across international markets. Wren is exceptional at representing our organisation in an extremely professional manner with our various international audiences, both in person and via her role in managing the company’s messaging & communications.
— Luke Miller, previously Founder and CEO, Offset Options
